Set in 37 acres of private Isle of Wight countryside including private beach.
Our holiday home is located at Brambles Chine, on the Linstone Chine Holiday Village in Freshwater which is owned and managed by the bungalow owners collectively. Set in 37 acres of countryside, it is on the quieter unspoilt western side of the Isle of Wight, just 5 minutes drive from the Yarmouth ferry terminal.
With all the holiday homes being privately owned, the site maintains a quiet peaceful family friendly atmosphere and the amount of open space is something rarely found these days.
We may be biased but the site and beach give some of the very best sunsets on the entire island, made even better by the peace and quiet of the site.
What's There To Do On Site?
Private Beach
Our private beach is a quiet corner of the popular Colwell Bay, with amazing views across the Solent and English Channel. It’s a pebble beach with sand at the shoreline – when the tide is out there’s plenty of sand for sandcastles and little ones. The sea is a very gentle slope and being a bay is often like a millpond – usually crystal clear and perfect for paddling, swimming, paddle boarding. You can see the Needles, the Dorset and Hampshire coasts and round to Hurst Castle.
Crazy Golf & Pitch + Putt
The site has a 9 hole crazy golf course which is suitable for all ages and often more challenging that it first looks. There are clubs and balls inside the property for you to use and if you need more they’re available to rent from the office. There’s also a 9 hole pitch and putt course – look for the yellow flags. The greens and tee boxes aren’t always cut as short as James would like, but it’s good for a knock around. Freshwater links course is 5 mins drive away if you want a proper round.
Playground & Football Pitch
The well maintained playground is a favourite of our daughter. Set in a safe enclosed area with picnic benches outside, it’s located at the far side of the large open playing field in the centre of the site. The field is perfect for flying kites and there are tennis nets and football goals in place for a kick around too.
Laundry
The site has a coin-operated laundry machine with washing and drying facilities. We have a rotary clothes line located behind the holiday home for your use.
Gym Trail
If keeping fit or having a challenge is your thing, or you need to wear out the kids, then there’s a 6-station circular gym trail set which includes balance beams, pull-up bars, dips and plenty of open space. “I’ll time you while you do a lap” is perfect respite for tired parents!
